The
Domenico Zipoli Institute is part of the Institute of the
Incarnate Word (IVE), and is fortunate to have the support
of the parishes of the IVE, especially the seat of the
Provincial House, St. Paul’s Church. But much more can be
done, through your support, to musically enrich our
communities.
Another objective of the Domenico Zipoli Institute is to
ensure the preservation and performance of Spanish Baroque
music. The cornerstone of the DZI is the Domenico Zipoli
Ensemble, comprised of a diverse group of world-class
musicians, which identifies, researches and ultimately
performs the music the institute was founded to preserve.
This year it will present a program on Ash Wednesday, and it
will be part of the liturgical feasts of Christmas and
Easter.
Regular guests will honor St. Paul’s community with a wealth
of music: the Columbia University Bach Society, under the
baton of David Rosenmeyer will present a program for choir
and orchestra; and the New York University Vocal Chamber
Class Ensemble will bring two recitals of vocal ensembles
with instrumental accompaniment.
Our
own Divine Mercy Choir and the Ballet Folclórico Juan Diego
and Ballet Folclórico Nuevo Amanecer (Jesús Cortés,
director) will be featured in various events during this
season.
